OFFICIANT
GAYLON
CLARK Pastor - Greater Mt. Zion -
Austin, TX
Gaylon
Clark, a native of Dallas, Texas, is the Senior Pastor of Greater
Mount Zion Baptist Church (GMZ) of Austin, Texas.
Pastor Clark made Jesus his Leader at the age of 16. His goal of
ministry continues to be developing mature followers of Christ who
make disciples of others as Jesus commands in the Great Commission
(Matthew 28:19-20). His unique spiritual abilities include preaching,
teaching, and discipling. He enjoys touching people through God’s
word.
Prior to becoming Senior Pastor of GMZ, Clark was Pastor of Discipleship
and Evangelism at Concord Missionary Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas
under the leadership of the late Dr. E.K. Bailey.
Pastor Clark graduated Summa Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Arts
in Biblical Studies from Dallas Baptist University. He later received
his Master of Theology in Pastoral Ministries from Dallas Theological
Seminary graduating Cum Laude.
Since assuming the position of Pastor of GMZ in April 2000, Clark
has initiated creative worship experiences. As a result, more than
1000 new members have joined the congregation. To accommodate this
tremendous growth, in March 2003 the church expanded to two worship
services and expanded to three services again in February 2005.
We continue to challenge GMZ members to extend their worship and
service to a different level.
